Favorite Designers

This is the most difficult because I love so many.  I have chosen the ones I most respect in the business.

Tom Ford - He has been my favorite since I was young, I worked under him the summer I interned for Gucci and I think its this sentimental reason that he is my favorite. I also love his good manners which seems to be a dead art.

Marc Jacobs - He is a dynamo and he went to Parsons as well, he is very admirable in his business savvy and I respect that he was able to complete collections for Louis Vuitton as well as Marc Jacobs for so many years.

Michael Kors - An american institution now, his handbags are beyond popular and I respect their simple sturdy and chic design, sometimes I mistake Michael Kors items for something much more expensive.

Ralph Lauren - Another american institution he has created an entire legend around his clothes and that is very impressive branding. I hope to be as clever as he is.

Oscar De la Renta - The quintessential dressmaker he can do no wrong. Everything he creates is sublime in color and design, so elegant and for refined women only.

Betsy Johnson - She is in every mall in America and has a cult following, she has been in the business for years and I remember going there for party dresses and my first pair of high heeled boots when I was practically a child.

Phoebe Philo - Her restrained chic is undeniable but she really makes out with her amazing accessories, I have loved her stuff since she was at Chloe.

Stella McCartney - I have also loved her since she was at Chloe which seems ages ago now.  I respect her strategy that played out during the Met ball red carpet between her gaggle of girls and the colorful and graphic formal wear, I think she might have won that evening.

Carolina Herrera - Everything she does is divine, I love her stores and she puts a major dosage of elegance in each and every garment. The accessories though not prominent are very fine and desirable to someone like me who shys away from logos.

Muiccia Prada - How could I not mention her, I almost never prefer her runway shows to these others but when the products come out they are just beyond fantastic and I pine after them for months at a time.  I am coveting a pair of black satin flats from the Fall 2014 collection.
